Public Display/Draft Publication
Sustainable Access to land Equality (SALE) of Uttaran organised a very colorful inaugural programme of draft publication/public display under the project of Access to Land Rights of government of Bangladesh Funded by European at two mouzas (Bondokuturia and Chakkuturia) of Jamalpur on 28th November, 2015. In the draft publication programme it is displaying the maps prepared by the digital method and records of the land owners (called Khatian with details information of the landowners). This is the first ever public display/draft publication in Bangladesh survey and record history. This draft publication/draft publication will be displayed openly for the landowners of the said mouzas for 30 working days in the field.

The programme inaugurated by Alhaj Rejaul Karim Hira, the honorable parliament member and president of standing committee of parliament of land ministry as chief guest. As the special guests Mr. Shamsul Alam, National Project director, Access to Land record and survey of Department of land record and survey (DLRS) and Mr. Shahabuddin Khan, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Jamalpur district were presented. The other guests were Additional revenue (Tax), Upazila Nirbahi Officer, Zonal Settlement officer (ZSO), Assistant Commissioner (Land), Assistant Settlement officer, Project Coordinator of SALE, Team leader of Project Technical Assistance Team (PTAT) and all the male and female landowners of Chakkuturia and Bondokuturia mouzas of Jamalpur Sadar.

The draft publication will make a transparent and accountable land management and will reduce corruption on land and above all landowners will regain their trust/faith in land survey activities. Besides that the targeted landowners of SALE project will be able to protect the land rights on land as the landowners are able to see their land location and measurement. If the landowners find any anomalies/error/mismatch they can place dispute at article 30 to get support within the land law.
